Dream Makers at Work
Ahmad became a client of Blossom Community Care in 2021 with goals, ambitions and dreams. Improving his confidence was central to these which would then increase his independence enabling him to engage more with his community.
Ahmad also wanted to develop his strength and had an aspiration to travel interstate.
Blossom Community Care are experts at turning client goals into realities and for Ahmad they have delivered each and every one of these hopes that he held dear.
Ahmad has worked closely with his support worker Harpeet to grow and develop his confidence which has been the trigger for achieving all his other objectives.
Ahmad now has a circle of friends he can turn to and enjoy spending time with, he is using public transport solo and is more readily able to regulate his emotions when things become challenging for him.
Daily gym sessions are now a part of Ahmads schedule enabling him to strengthen his body and get those endorphins flowing to improve his wellbeing. Two of those sessions are with Harpeet supporting him.
Ahmad adventurous spirit drives him to visit new suburbs with his support worker each week as he discovers new places and sights and sounds to expand his horizons and open his mind to new possibilities.
Weekends are spent at the pub and community events where Ahmad avidly chats with the people he encounters further developing his confidence.
One of the most exciting adventures Ahmad has undertaken was a recent trip to Sydney, fulfilling one of his most ambitious goals. The trip included travelling around and discovering the CDB and like most tourist taking a trip on the harbour to view the beauty of this extraordinary city from the waters.
Due to his increases in strength and the growth in his confidence Ahmad has started walking again a huge achievement that he credits and thanks Blossom for. He has tried different NDIS Providers in the past and says “If I’d had Blossom Community Care in the past I would already have been walking with a walker.”
Ahmad and Harpeet have developed a strong bond based on a foundation of mutual respect, understanding, and working towards united goals and objectives and commitment to a better life that fosters independence and happiness.
