Fishability Queensland – Community Centre Industry Focus

Our exclusive Community Centre has reeled in a big one – Fishability Queensland will be one of our exhibitors at the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2022, presented by Holistic Horizons!

Fishability Queensland provides socially inclusive fishing opportunities to rebuild community, create healthy friendships and enrich lives.

It was formed through a partnership between Bribie Island Boat Charters and several smaller community groups since 2013to provide a range of socially inclusive fishing and outdoor recreational opportunities for people who experience disadvantage, isolation, and marginalisation.

As well as dropping a line with qualified staff and dedicated volunteers, Fishability Queensland also offers health and wellbeing programs throughout the week. Community onshore fishing and other fishing events in varying accessible locations are also offered to participants, free of charge.

The friendly anglers from Fishability Queensland will be at the expo for one day only – Saturday, April 30 – so drop in and see them from 10am to 4pm, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The free Community Centre is an initiative of Developing Australian Communities to recognise the inclusiveness and community spirit shown by many not-for-profit or charity organisations throughout Australia.
