UnitingCare Community

We welcome UnitingCare as a Gold Sponsor of the Brisbane Disability Connection Expo 2024.

UnitingCare believes that everyone has the right to live a rich and fulfilling life not defined by disability—a life where individuals are free to make their own decisions, however big or small. Across Queensland, UnitingCare supports thousands of people with disability in redefining what’s possible in their lives. The organisation assists people with disability in achieving their goals, whether at home, in the community, or in employment. UnitingCare is committed to an evidence-based, best practice approach in the planning and delivery of its services.

The team at UnitingCare works with participants, families, and other stakeholders to create vibrant, connected communities that empower individuals to live their best lives. UnitingCare offers a wide range of supports, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), where the dedicated team works closely with participants to deliver high-quality, reliable supports enabling them to live the life they want.

Flexible, reliable in-home support is also provided—high-quality supports tailored to meet specific needs and delivered at times that suit individuals in their own homes. Social and community participation include flexible supports offering a variety of engaging activities tailored to individual goals, such as learning new skills, building self-confidence, or enhancing social lives.

Short Term Accommodation (STA) or respite services are offered, providing tailored support in a safe and nurturing atmosphere, creating a home away from home.

Project SEARCH, an innovative and highly successful employment service, offers real-life work experience to help individuals transition successfully from school to employment.

The Support Coordination team at UnitingCare delivers individual assistance tailored to each person’s situation, built around dreams and goals for the future.

In Red Hill, a range of activities, including after-school care and vacation care with a variety of fun, engaging, and educational activities, is provided.

Disability Employment Support (DES) is available through the dedicated team in Toowoomba. Additionally, UnitingCare delivers community and in-home supports via the Queensland Community Support Service (QCSS).

The UnitingCare team is available to help right now—have a chat to see how they can assist in taking the next step in the right direction!
