Delivering successful stories through establishing successful lives

Cocoon SDA are a proud Platinum Sponsor of the Perth Disability Connection Expo, sponsored by St Jude’s NDIS, to be held on the 25th and 26th August at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Cocoon’s focus lies in creating unique and fit for purpose specialist disability homes, catering to individuals with severe functional impairments and/or extensive support requirements as a result of their disabilities.

Their objective is to provide unwavering support to all their residents, enabling them to develop their abilities, learn valuable skills, and actively engage in their local communities with confidence, security, and purpose.

Danielle Robertson’s is another incredible Cocoon success story.

She began her transformative journey at the end of 2022 when she moved into one of Cocoon’s tailor made homes.

Despite her initial trepidation and her fragility, the  result of a very long hospital stay, Danielle quickly flourished in her new environment.

To say she blossomed would be an understatement and the relief of being out of hospital and in a real home that met all her needs ensured the transition was a success.

It’s not just about the roof over her head though, Danielle’s flourishing was also thanks to the compassionate and person centred support of the Cocoon staff.

With their support and care she embraced this positive change, became happier in herself and more comfortable with her environment and those around her.

Most heart warming was that she reconnected with her family and they shared a joyful and beautiful Christmas meal together.

This filled her with love and a strong sense of belonging and brought to the fore her infectious smile which was evident for all to see and her laughter which lit up every room she entered.

Danielle endeared herself to both staff and fellow residents, who have found a mutual love of the Harry Potter series motivated by Danielle’s own passion for the much loved movies.

With her new found confidence, Danielle is engaging in community participation activities, she discovered new interests whilst also embracing her love for music, nature, and animals.

The immense appreciation voiced by her family reflects the profound impact Cocoon has had on Danielle’s life, making this the best she has been in years.

Her success story stands as a testament to the transformative power of care, compassion, and a supportive environment that offers choice and control.
