Did you know Tourette Syndrome is diagnosed at a rate of 1 in every 100 Australians?

This week our Cofounder Mr River Night had the chance to talk to Mandy Maysey, President of the Tourette Syndrome Association of Australia, Inc. (TSAA). They spoke about awareness week, first responders, NDIS, Tourette Syndrome, disability and service access.

This week marks National Tourette Syndrome Awareness week 1 – 7 May 2023. This year’s focus is on first responders, supporting awareness, education and research. In recent research, only 28% of respondents with Tourette Syndrome reported a positive experience with first responders in comparison to 96% of respondents without Tourette Syndrome (TS).

You can find out more about TSAA’s campaign for this year’s awareness week here. Come and see the Tourette Syndrome Association at their booth at the Sydney Disability Connection Expo, sponsored by Easy Healthcare 16-17 June 2023 at the ICC.

Don’t miss out on a booth if you are a provider as the biggest and funnest Disability and NDIS related event in NSW’s history is almost sold out!
