Living Communities is a registered NDIS provider, located in Queensland, and provides services in Brisbane and its surrounding areas including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Benjamin Bullivant founded the organisation in 2020 after witnessing first hand discrimination against participants by support workers. Living Communities is led by people with disabilities for people with disabilities. They pride themselves in providing a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can receive the necessary supports and services to lead fulfilling lives. Living Communities emphasises independence, social inclusion, and person-centred care. Their supports are designed with participants in mind and are tailored to meet their individual needs.

Living Communities  pride themselves on their person-centred approach to the delivery of their services which are all inclusive. Their services, which include Support Coordination, Recovery Coaching, Capacity Building and Skill Development, are designed to provide an individualised approach to navigating the complexities of the NDIS, and their plan, to assist in meeting. Their Community Participation services provide participants with increased social and community participation and connect these participants with appointments and activities of their desire.

Living Communities’ Garden Care and Maintenance services assist participants with more complex needs to maintain their outdoor areas to ensure that they have a safe and well-maintained environment.

Their founder, Benjamin, explains why Living Communities do what they do: “Having been bullied for having a disability throughout my childhood, I am a firm believer in social justice. I feel that the needs, rights, and basic human dignity of every person should never be overlooked. Individuals with a disability should never be treated as less but provided with the opportunity to participate in the community as any other person. Supports are necessary to ensure the dignity and respect of an individual. Everyone has the right to choose what they want from life, and making those choices is empowering and essential to human growth. Living Communities exists to assist people who sometimes have their voices lost in crowded spaces. This is especially true for those who identify as LGBTQIA++.  We are here to empower our clients, providing them with ways and means to improve their quality of life.”
